Pachamama is an organic café on the inland side of Gili Air, in a leafy courtyard. It is one of the island's highest-rated places to eat (about 4.7 on Google from more than a thousand reviews) and has a loyal following among vegetarians and vegans, though the menu is not exclusively meat-free.
Expect nourishing bowls, salads, smoothies, raw desserts such as its well-known carrot cake, and properly made coffee. Past reviewers have singled out the spiced beef bowl. The relaxed garden seating makes it an easy place to spend a slow morning or escape the midday heat.
Pachamama also has a spa and a private villa with a pool for rent next door. It is on Jalan Svea, about a 10–15 minute walk or a short bike ride from the harbour. Message on WhatsApp for villa or spa bookings. It is a good place to come for breakfast or lunch before heading to the beach in the afternoon.
Message ahead in peak season: July, August and the Christmas holidays fill up fast.
