Dive & Snorkel

The Gili Islands are one of the easiest places in Southeast Asia to learn to dive. The water is warm year-round, the sites are a few minutes by boat, and turtles are seen on most dives. Gili Trawangan and Gili Air have large, well-equipped dive centres for beginner courses up to instructor and technical training, and freediving has a strong following here too.

Beyond the Gilis, the southern islands off Sekotong offer quieter reefs and snorkelling trips, and the south coast has a few operators running trips to sites such as Belongas Bay, known for strong currents and hammerhead sharks in season.
