Gili Air Santay Restaurant

Santay is one of the long-established beachfront restaurants on the east coast of Gili Air, between the harbour and the quieter north of the island. Tables and loungers are set out under umbrellas on the sand facing Lombok, and there is a small group of bungalows behind the restaurant.

The menu is a mix of Indonesian dishes, such as mie goreng, nasi campur and grilled fish, and Western options including breakfasts, pasta and salads, with fresh juices and cold Bintang. Reviewers single out breakfast by the water and the friendly service. Prices are moderate for a beachfront spot, and you can stay on the sunbeds for the afternoon if you are eating and drinking.

It opens daily from 08:00 to 22:00. The east coast is calm and good for swimming and snorkelling, and the bars around the harbour are a short walk away in the evening. Santay is about ten minutes on foot north of the harbour along the coastal path.
