The Roast House sits inland in the north of the village, a short detour from the beachfront, and it rewards the walk with hearty, good-value food. Its speciality is rotisserie chicken, sold as a quarter, half or whole bird, served with mashed potatoes and gravy. It is a popular choice with visitors who have been travelling for a while and want something close to a Sunday roast.
Beyond the chicken there are burgers, quesadillas, pasta and pizza, and a full breakfast menu in the mornings. Local Lombok coffee is strong and inexpensive. The dining room is a clean, open-sided pavilion with plenty of tables, so it works well for groups.
It opens daily from 07:30 to 22:00. Service can slow down at peak dinner time, so allow a little extra time if you are hungry. Prices are moderate and portions are generous; a half chicken comfortably feeds one. Call ahead for large group bookings.
Message ahead in peak season: July, August and the Christmas holidays fill up fast.
