Mama Pizza

Mama Pizza started on Gili Air and opened its second restaurant in Kuta, set back from Jl. Raya Kuta behind a brick façade and a leafy courtyard. The speciality is sourdough pizza baked in a brick oven, with well-blistered crusts and toppings such as burrata, mortadella, pesto, salami and green chilli.

Beyond pizza the kitchen turns out handmade pasta (carbonara, gnocchi, lasagne), salads and a homemade tiramisu, with cocktails and soft drinks to go with them. Italian music and the garden seating make it a relaxed choice for a date night or a family dinner, and it is regularly named by travel writers as the best pizza in Kuta.

It opens from noon to 21:30 every day. Evenings get busy, especially in July and August, so book a table through the website or call ahead if you are a group; delivery is also offered around Kuta. Expect mid-range prices by local standards, roughly in line with other Western restaurants in town.
