The Breakery

The Breakery is a French-style artisan bakery and coffee shop on the main road through Kuta. The glass counter is stacked with croissants, almond croissants, pain au chocolat, tarts and quiches, and there are loaves of sourdough and baguettes to take away for a villa breakfast.

As well as pastries, the café serves a breakfast and lunch menu including eggs Benedict with proper hollandaise, sandwiches on house bread and homemade nut butters, with smooth espresso drinks. Seating is split between an indoor room and an outdoor terrace; the indoor tables are quieter, as the terrace picks up road noise from the main street.

It opens daily from 07:00 to 18:00. Come early for the best choice of pastries, as popular items can sell out by late morning. Staff are friendly and bring free table water, and prices are moderate. It is a good option for picking up bread and pastries before a day trip to the southern beaches.
