Tumbao Beach Club

Tumbao is a beach club and restaurant on Pantai Tanjung Aan, at the foot of Bukit Merese, about 15 minutes' drive east of Kuta town and 25 minutes from the airport. Sun loungers and beanbags sit straight on the white sand facing a calm cove that suits families and swimmers.

There is no entrance fee or minimum spend. The kitchen is wood-fired, with dishes such as poke bowls, charcoal-grilled barramundi, sushi and pizzas, and roughly half the menu is vegetarian or can be made vegan. The bar pours cocktails, sangria, wine by the glass and a zero-proof list. DJs play daily except Monday from 3pm until sunset, and there are showers, toilets, Wi-Fi and free parking.

It is open daily from 10am to 7pm. Arrive by early afternoon for a front-row lounger; tables can be reserved via the website or WhatsApp. Climb Bukit Merese next door for the classic sunset view afterwards.
