Horizon Senaru

Horizon Senaru combines simple accommodation, a restaurant and a trekking outfit on Jalan Pariwisata, near the top of Senaru village. The rooms are in white-walled cottages set around a sloping garden with palms and views towards the hills and, on clear days, the coast.

Rooms are plain but clean, with tiled floors and private bathrooms, and the on-site restaurant serves Indonesian meals so you do not need to go out before an early start. Because the team also runs Rinjani treks, it is easy to book a crater-rim or summit package, arrange porters and sort out gear rental in one place. Transfers from the airport, Bangsal or Senggigi can also be arranged.

The guesthouse is a short ride or a steep walk from the Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep waterfalls. Book through the website or by phone; in the dry season (roughly April to November) Senaru fills up with trekkers, so it is worth reserving ahead.
