Mahakala Rinjani Coffee

Mahakala Rinjani Coffee is a specialty coffee bar and restaurant on Jalan Wisata Gunung Rinjani in Sembalun Bumbung, in the high valley on the eastern side of the mountain. Inside, a long wooden bar holds a proper espresso machine and manual brewing kit, and the beans come from Lombok farms.

As well as coffee, it serves Indonesian dishes and a buffet menu, and it has an amphitheatre space for events. Coffee starts at around IDR 20,000 and meals are reasonably priced. The café opens early, at around 07:00, and closes around 19:00, which suits trekkers starting or finishing on the Sembalun route and visitors coming up for sunrise on Pergasingan Hill or Bukit Selong.

Sembalun is cool year-round, so a hot drink here is welcome. Reservations can be made by WhatsApp.
