Anggrek Putih Lombok Cooking Class

Anggrek Putih (White Orchid) is a family-run cooking school at Pondok Anggrek Putih in Meninting, between Mataram and Senggigi, operated by the team behind Authentic Lombok Tours. It is one of the best-reviewed activities in the Senggigi area, with hundreds of five-star reviews on Tripadvisor.

Each half-day session starts with a welcome drink and a guided walk through the vegetable and herb garden, where you learn about local spices, chillies and ingredients. You then cook roughly six to twelve dishes, from spicy Lombok specialities to Indonesian favourites made with coconut milk, palm sugar, lemongrass and tamarind, before sitting down to eat everything you have made. Recipes and photos are emailed afterwards, and vegetarian, vegan and other dietary needs can be accommodated.

Classes run every day with pick-ups around 11:00 for lunch and 16:30 for dinner, and take groups of 1 to 17. The price is IDR 400,000 per person, including transport from Senggigi and Mangsit hotels. Book by WhatsApp or email.
