Coco Beach is a long-standing, low-key restaurant on the beach at Kerandangan, just north of central Senggigi. Diners sit in their own thatched garden pavilions set among palms and plants, a few steps from the sand, which gives it a far quieter feel than the main Senggigi strip.
The kitchen focuses on Indonesian and Sasak home-style cooking, including nasi goreng, curries, grilled fish and plenty of vegetable dishes, many of them made with herbs and greens from the on-site organic garden. Vegetarians and vegans are well catered for, and the herbal drinks and jamu-style teas are worth trying. Reviews consistently praise the food and setting, with a Google rating of 4.7 from over 500 reviews, though service runs at an unhurried island pace.
It is open daily from midday to 21:00. The turning is a little hard to spot off the main road near Kerandangan, but local drivers know it well. Prices are modest for the area, and it is a pleasant spot for a long lunch or an early dinner before sunset.
Message ahead in peak season: July, August and the Christmas holidays fill up fast.
