Salza is the main restaurant at Svarga Resort, set on the hillside above the Senggigi coast with wide views over the Lombok Strait. It is open to non-residents throughout the day, serving breakfast from 07:00, lunch from noon and dinner until late.
The kitchen cooks seasonal menus built on local ingredients, covering Indonesian dishes and international plates. Breakfast is a particular strength, with American and Turkish-style breakfasts, guacamole and soft croissants all praised by reviewers. At dinner the open terrace is a calm alternative to the busier beachfront venues, and the sunset views from the elevated deck are excellent.
Staff are warm and attentive, and prices are moderate for a resort restaurant. Book a table through the resort's website or by email for dinner, particularly if you want a seat by the edge at sunset. Svarga is on the main road between central Senggigi and Mangsit, a short taxi or scooter ride from most hotels in the area.
Message ahead in peak season: July, August and the Christmas holidays fill up fast.
