Senggigi Espresso is a compact, friendly café on the main road through Senggigi that has built a loyal following among visitors who end up eating breakfast here most days of their stay. The owners greet regulars by name, and the coffee is properly made, from cappuccinos to iced lattes.
The menu mixes café staples with Indonesian dishes. Loaded croissants, avocado scrambled eggs, smashed avocado on toast and granola fruit bowls sit next to mie goreng, nasi goreng and ayam bakar served with rice, sambal and salad. Portions are generous and prices are low for the area, which makes it a sensible daily stop if you are staying nearby.
Seating is close to the road, so expect some passing scooter noise. It opens at 08:00 and closes at 20:00, with shorter hours on Sundays when it shuts mid-afternoon. It is an easy walk from most of the central Senggigi hotels and a good place to fuel up before a day trip north to Malimbu or the Gili harbour at Bangsal.
Message ahead in peak season: July, August and the Christmas holidays fill up fast.
