Heaven on the Planet

Heaven on the Planet is a long-established surf resort perched on the cliffs of the Ekas peninsula in south-east Lombok, with an infinity pool and restaurant deck looking straight out over the reef breaks. Rooms and bungalows are spread across the hillside, with views of the bay and the coast.

The resort suits mixed groups of surfers: beginners and longboarders can ride the beach break, while more experienced surfers head to Inside and Outside Ekas by boat. Away from the water there is yoga, e-bike tours through the surrounding villages and countryside, occasional live music and special dinners. Reviewers describe the staff as warm and the atmosphere as family-like.

Meals are taken on site, as there is little else nearby. Ekas is about 75 minutes by road from Kuta and around 90 minutes from the airport; the resort can arrange transfers. Surf conditions are best in the dry season, from around April to October, when the south-east trade winds blow offshore.
