Jeeva Beloam sits on its own white-sand bay near Tanjung Ringgit, at the far south-eastern tip of Lombok, beyond the Pink Beach area. Its villas are tall thatched structures in a traditional style, open to the sea breeze, with beds facing straight out over the turquoise water. With almost 1,000 Google reviews at 4.7, it is one of the best-known escapes in East Lombok.
The location is deliberately remote. Mobile signal is weak, though there is Wi-Fi, and power runs partly on a generator schedule, so check the times on arrival. The beach is clean and quiet, monkeys visit, and sea turtles sometimes nest here. Snorkelling, kayaking, trekking and trips to the pink beaches can be arranged. Because there is nowhere else to eat, most guests take a package with meals.
The access road is rough, especially the last stretch, so arrange the resort's transfer rather than driving yourself. Book through the Jeeva website.
Message ahead in peak season: July, August and the Christmas holidays fill up fast.
