Lé Batavia is a small café, coffee bar and restaurant in the south of Gili Meno, near the Bounty Wreck dive and snorkel site. It is run by a young team of cooks and has a 4.7 Google rating from about 350 reviews.
The menu draws on Betawi (Jakarta) and wider Indonesian cooking, with dishes such as stuffed tofu, gado-gado, sweet and sour chicken, mie goreng and a tofu burger, alongside breakfasts and coffee drinks. Food is freshly cooked and well presented. Portions are on the small side, so order an extra dish if you are hungry, and allow time at busy periods as each plate is made to order.
It opens daily from 07:30 to 23:00, which makes it handy for both breakfast before snorkelling the wreck and a late dinner. The setting is modern, tidy and quiet. It is a few minutes' walk from the south-west beaches. If you are snorkelling the wreck, go in the morning when the water is calmest, then come back here for lunch.
Message ahead in peak season: July, August and the Christmas holidays fill up fast.
