Grand Legi Hotel

Grand Legi is one of the earliest hotels in Mataram and still a familiar name in the city. It sits on Jalan Sriwijaya, a short drive from Lombok Epicentrum Mall, and has the air of an older, traditional Indonesian hotel, with a grand marble lobby, chandeliers and corridors decorated with nostalgic photographs.

Rooms are spacious, many with a bathtub, and are reasonably priced, although some guests note that the décor and maintenance are dated in places and that it is worth checking the room on arrival. The large swimming pool, set in a central courtyard surrounded by the hotel wings, is a highlight. The hotel has numerous function rooms and is often used for meetings, weddings and government events.

The staff are remembered fondly for the care they showed during the 2018 Lombok earthquakes, sheltering guests and neighbours. Grand Legi works best as a budget-friendly, central base for a night or two in the city. Public transport and taxis are easy to find outside.
