Pearl Beach Resort Gili Asahan

Pearl Beach Resort occupies the quieter side of Gili Asahan, a small island off the Sekotong peninsula in south-west Lombok. It is the only resort on this white-sand stretch, away from the village, so the soundtrack is water and birds rather than roosters. Accommodation is in thatched beach and garden villas and bungalows set in a mature tropical garden.

The house reef in front of the resort is the main attraction, and the team runs an active coral restoration project there; reviewers describe some of the best snorkelling they have seen. Kayaks, canoes and SUPs are available, and the resort can arrange diving, island-hopping boat trips, walks and yoga. There is a spa and a restaurant serving international and Indonesian dishes. Some rooms show their age a little, but the setting more than makes up for it.

Guests are collected by boat from the Sekotong mainland. Book through the website or by WhatsApp, and arrange the transfer from the airport or Bangsal when you reserve.
