Silver Fern Beach Retreat

Silver Fern Beach Retreat is a beachfront hotel in Tawun, on the Sekotong mainland in south-west Lombok, with the southern Gilis spread across the bay in front. It has a pool with thatched sun shelters, a well-kept garden and direct access to a calm beach lined with fishing boats; sunsets over the water are a highlight.

Rooms are spacious and modern, with sofas, kettles and air conditioning. The on-site restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner at reasonable prices, which matters here because there are few other places to eat nearby and no public transport. Free drinking water and an inexpensive laundry service are available. Staff and the owner get warm reviews; a minority of guests have reported drain smells in some bathrooms, which staff have dealt with by moving rooms.

Boat trips to Gili Nanggu, Gili Sudak and the other islands can be arranged from the beach. It is about 90 minutes from the airport by car.
