Amber Lombok Beach Resort

Amber is a full-service beach resort on Torok Beach, a long, quiet stretch of sand west of Selong Belanak with no other big hotels around it. Accommodation ranges from suites, many with their own plunge pools, to larger villas with private-home space and full access to the resort's facilities. Interiors use natural materials and handcrafted furniture.

The Bayside Lounge restaurant and bar is the centrepiece, open from breakfast to late with house cocktails, and the resort also has a main pool, the Mukti Spa, yoga sessions and a small gym. Staff can organise surf, dive and island tours. It is one of the best-reviewed resorts on the south coast, with over 1,700 Google reviews averaging 4.6.

Be aware that the sea here often has strong waves and is not ideal for swimming, so most guests use the pool. Torok is fairly remote, around 40 minutes from Kuta, so plan on taxis or the resort's transport. Booking direct on the website gives a 10% saving.
