Kairos is a recently opened boutique hotel set among rice fields just outside Selong Belanak village, about five minutes by scooter from the beach. It is built for active travellers: rooms are small private mini-villas with two-metre beds, and the grounds hold a fitness centre, pool, yoga shala with a view, climbing wall and a surfskate bowl.
Stays can be booked as room only or as sports packs, which add breakfast and a daily programme of surf, yoga, pilates, surfskate and fitness sessions, plus a weekly trip to the southern Gilis (Nanggu, Sudak and Kedis) or to the Tetebatu waterfalls and rice terraces. Walk-in classes are also open to non-guests, and the restaurant gets strong reviews for its burgers and healthy dishes.
It already has a perfect 5.0 Google rating from its early guests. Good for solo travellers and couples who want structure and company. Book on the website, which lists current pack prices.
Message ahead in peak season: July, August and the Christmas holidays fill up fast.
