Sohir Warung sits on the sand at Mawun Beach, under trees that throw welcome shade over its wooden tables. It is a straightforward local warung with a long picture menu of Indonesian staples, and with around 190 Google reviews it is one of the busier spots on the bay.
Nasi goreng, mie goreng and chicken satay are the standbys, and the kitchen also grills fresh fish and cooks crab when available. Food is basic but freshly made, and the staff keep an eye out to stop bracelet sellers bothering guests too much. You can rent a beach umbrella and lounger and spend the day here.
It opens daily from 08:00 to 17:30, so plan it as a lunch stop rather than dinner. Quality can vary on busy days; freshly cooked dishes are the safer bet. Bring cash for food, loungers and the beach parking fee.
Message ahead in peak season: July, August and the Christmas holidays fill up fast.
