SUKU is a small lifestyle hotel on Jalan Pariwisata in Selong Belanak village, about five minutes on foot from the beach. It mixes standard rooms set around a large pool with a handful of private villas aimed at couples and longer stays who want more space and privacy.
The pool deck is the social centre, and the in-house Resto serves fresh, locally sourced food from breakfast through to dinner. BAGI Coffee & Eatery operates on the same site. The owners say they aim to run the hotel with respect for the local community and environment, and guest scores are consistently high (around 9.5 on Booking.com and 4.9 on Google).
Selong Belanak's gentle beach break is ideal for first-time surfers, and boat trips to the reef breaks along the coast can be arranged nearby. Kuta is roughly 30 minutes away by scooter, so renting one is the easiest way to explore Mawun, Tampah and the other bays. Book direct via the website or on Booking.com; rooms sell out in the dry season and around MotoGP weekends.
Message ahead in peak season: July, August and the Christmas holidays fill up fast.
