Lombok Go Where

Lombok

Lombok sits one short hop east of Bali, but it moves at a different pace. The south coast is a run of horseshoe bays and reef breaks around Kuta and Selong Belanak. The north is dominated by Mount Rinjani, Indonesia's second-highest volcano, with waterfalls and terraced valleys at its feet. Off the north-west tip, the three Gili Islands have no cars, clear water and some of the easiest diving in Southeast Asia.

Lombok Go Where lists the places that make a trip work: hotels and homestays, warungs and beach bars, surf schools, dive centres, trekking operators and spas. Every listing is a real, operating business with its own address, contact details and a photo of the place itself, and each one sits on the map so you can see what is near where you are staying.

Start with an area below. Kuta and Selong Belanak suit surfers and beach days; Senggigi and Mataram are the gateway on the west coast; Sekotong is for quiet islands and snorkelling; Senaru, Sembalun and Tetebatu are the base for Rinjani treks and rice-field walks; the Gilis are for diving, cycling and sunsets.
